&lt;p&gt;“This shape of hat was worn both with riding habits of the period and as  fashionable daywear. The buttons on the sides of the brim of this one  probably held cords or ties to keep the hat from flying off  during a  gallop.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;AMAZING.&lt;/p&gt;
