"Arlesienne" dress by Worth, c. 1912-1913, owned by Queen Maud of Norway. Below is a photo of the original design. Queen Maud was the daughter of Princess Alexandra and Edward, Princes of Wales (later King Edward VII of England). She married her cousin Prince Carl of Denmark. When Norway and Sweden became independent from each other in 1905, Carl was elected King of Norway and Maud became queen.
